Brothers and lifelong hockey players Dan and Eric Riley call each other up to talk about the greatest game on earth.

From the amateur and professional worlds, to pop and unpopular culture, to history, stats, facts, and a whole lot of opinion; any way you slice it, the boys find a way to throw hockey into the mix.

Eric Riley

Starting his hockey career at the tender age of 4, the game has since enveloped Eric's life in nearly every fashion. From professional skate sharpener to Zamboni driver, he has almost literally spent the last 24 years in an ice rink.

Having played youth hockey in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois, the skill was prominent, and as a natural playmaker, it was easy to find an outlet anywhere on the ice. However, it wasn't until he moved to northern Wisconsin, when he found himself on a AAA team that he admittedly probably shouldn't have been on, that he had to change his style a bit.

Once he got to high school and played mostly defense, that's when his coaches started getting angry emails from parents about No. 19 cup-checking their kid in front of the net. He has since rediscovered his love for playmaking and scoring, but usually with a beer in tow.

Eric currently resides in Green Bay, WI and has recently launched EMR Guitars (Owner/Luthier) and is looking forward to pretending he’s over 35 to play in the local hockey league.

Dan Riley

Born into a hockey family, Dan first cut his teeth skating the small, frozen lake his parents grew up on, in his first pair of tiny Bauer skates. In the 1970’s, his grandfather built a rink in southern Wisconsin, where all Dan’s aunts and uncles played hockey and figure skated, and where his dad played in the Badger State Hockey League for 15 years. Throughout his teenage years, Dan split time playing varsity hockey and playing guitar in his band. Although he always had a passion for both, putting equal time into being the best hockey player and the best musician he could be proved to be too tall an order, and by his junior year in high school, playing Primus-esque thrash metal became his main squeeze. After high school, and thanks to attending college in a hockey town (with a D1 team), intramural leagues, and the Detroit Red Wings suddenly on basic cable, Dan rediscovered his love for the game and saw it in a light more clear and vibrant than ever before. 15 years hence, Dan plays beer league multiple times a week, roots for the Wings, and enjoys the northern life with his lady love.
